Emory Emlyn
Gumption Goes BOOM!
StirDigital 008 sees the young Emory Emlyn making his EP debut with Gumption Goes BOOM! All 4 tracks are a bit playful and very dance floor friendly.
Amanda Bleep is nothing short of smack jack boogie down for 3am degenerates. Sharp percussion, subtle panning and chirpy vocal snips intertwine for a clang stamp stomp whomp fist pumper of a track.
This brings us to Stupid Dinosaur, which sits somewhere in between today’s electronic realm and early 90’s quintessential rave. It’s great to present a fusion of vintage sample hits with a booming and resonant piece of techno for present day festivity bashing.
That being said, Emory’s palette is sure to excite. Enter: Learning to Fingerpaint. Flanged and delayed out synth weirdness send a virtual prod into the brain coercing your feet into synergetic submission.
After your cerebral matter gets worked good and long, switch on The Dangerous Life of A Ninja for some more good clean erk-n-jerk. Rumbly sub bass (oh, how we love) sets the tone for all that’s elastic, expelling and bouncy in Gumption Goes BOOM!

Don’t know anything about this producer, but i like the 4 tracks on this EP release – AMANDA BLEEP is a nice opener with driving minimal grooves but the wonky stance of THE DANGEROUS LIFE OF A NINJA is my overall fave cut.
