Ismael Torres has had previous incursions into electronic music. First, as part of the trio Ultradeep, in which he created an organic sound with live vocals. His first solo project, Input, was very well received in a series of small venues, which led to a deeper exploration of studio work and a more complex live act, under the name D_bug. In 2006, D_bug went on his first European tour, where he had presentations in the cities of Berlin, Prague and Geneva. As a result, German record label, Eintakt, invited him to participate in a compilation called ‘Ciudadanos EP’ and in the edition of the an EP that will be released during the summer of 2007. D_bug achieves a complex sound with multiple textures using only the minimum necessary elements. The free structure of his tracks makes improvisation on stage very natural. The music is fresh, smart and danceable, with no immediate reference to compare it to in the universe of electronica. A relentless rhythm and steady groove is achieved through the use of strictly synthetic elements. A truly engaging live act, with depth and introspection.
